A residence usually with two levels of living area (1.5 to 1.75 stories) featuring steep roof slope and dormers.
The design is generally symmetrical and does not feature much overhang or other ornamentation.
The area of the second floor is usually 40% to 75% the area of the ground floor. Almost all homes that are 1.5 or 1.75 stories are Cape Cods. The rare exception being Contemporary designs. Cape Cod floor plans and designs can also be found under the Country Homes heading
