Laying a Brick Patio

• Determine the patio's location and layout.
• Dig a hole to accommodate the stones.
• Build a frame around the patio's edge (normally of wood).
• Lay down landscaping fabric to prevent weed growth.
• Add a layer of gravel over the fabric.
• Add a layer of sand over the gravel.
• Level the patio to ensure it will be even.
• Lay the bricks.
• Sweep sand between the bricks to fill the cracks.
